How we love our longer days as we head out of winter and into spring. While we could still use more rain here in California, these are the sunny months for our neighborhood and the days of best solar generation.
I went through the charts for of solar output for the past 6 months since our system was installed and noted the high days of kilowatts generated. It's interesting to see how it obviously follows the hours of daylight. We can't wait to see how much we can generate in June!
15.23 October
11.76 November
11.73 December
13.16 January
14.70 February
17.83 March
As planned, we are still not running negative on our energy use, but we are offsetting the highest tier rates from PG&E. Our electric bill this past month was $11.22 plus the $29 Solar City lease charge = $40.22 compared to last March's PG&E bill of $105.31 for a savings of $65.09 What a great help every month in these tough economic times! If we can do it in our fog, just think of what can be done in the East Bay, on the Peninsula, or in the Valley.
There's no excuse not to go solar now!
